German Fairy-Tale-Route

The town Steinau an der Straße is member of the registered association "German-Fairy-tale Route". In 1975 the organisation was founded in the historical town-hall of Steinau.

More than 70 towns, communities and districts belong to the association. The German Fairy-tale Route is one of the eldest and most popular vacation routes in Germany. The life-stations of the Brothers Grimm and the places and landscapes where their fairy tales come from are lined up to a fabulous travel route, over 600 km long from Hanau to Bremen.

The Fairy-tale route offers art and history, leads the visitor to enchanting half-timbering towns, palaces and castles, museums and galleries, offers concerts and theatre, links customs, city-flair and traditional regional arts.
