German FairyTale Route
The town Steinau an der Straße is member of the registered association German Fairy Tale Route.
In 1975 the organisation was founded in the historical town-hall of Steinau.
More than 70 towns, communities and districts belong to the association. The German Fairy Tale Route is one of the eldest and most popular vacation routes in Germany. The life-stations of the Brothers Grimm and the places and landscapes where their fairy tales come from are lined up to a fabulous travel route, over 600 km long from Hanau to Bremen.
The Fairy Tale Route offers culture and history, leads the visitor to enchanting medieval towns with half-timbered houses, castles and fortresses, museums and art galleries, offers concerts and theatre - a charming blend of traditional town life, urban atmosphere and local folklore crafts.
